smartFoodTechnolgyOWL with the “Focus day: Where food meets IT” : Date:

On 02 March 2021, the “Focus Day: Where food meets IT” took place at the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts (TH OWL). The online conference addressed the core topics of the smartFoodTechnologyOWL  partnership: digitalization and Industry 4.0 in the food industry.

In workshops, live demonstrations, and expert presentations, the smartFoodTechnologyOWL partners presented current results from their collaborative research to the public. The event addressed current issues relating to the food industry, including the application potential of blockchain technology, real-time analytics in quality control or recycling in food packaging. The BMBF was also present on the panel: Marcus Wittrin, responsible for the “Research at Universities of Applied Sciences” program, attended the “Morning Talk” together with Prof. Dr. Jürgen Krahl, President of TH Ostwestfalen-Lippe, and Christian Fretter from Dr. August Oetker Nahrungsmittel KG. The conference took place online from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on 02 March, participation was free. The smartFoodTechnologyOWL partnership provides information about the event on its website.
