HAW-EuropaNetzwerke at a glance

The HAW-Europa-Netzwerke funding supports German UAS in establishing and expanding international networks and thus establishing their research priorities in the international scientific community in a sustainable and long-term manner. The funding aims to enable UAS to develop project proposals for European research programmes together with national and international research partners and to submit applications.

HAW-EuropaNetzwerke encourages UAS to develop and successfully submit topic-specific project proposals for European funding programmes together with international research partners. These include, for instance, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe and its successor programme from 2028 onwards as well as comparable European programmes (such as LIFE, EU4Health, Digital Europe) or Eureka instruments.

Funding is available for projects that demonstrably serve to network with potential European and international project partners. The aim is to submit a joint application to one of the programmes mentioned above. Other network-building measures can also be supported, such as the organisation of an international Research Week.

Successful projects are selected in a one-stage process (full proposals only). Applications can be submitted continuously. A maximum of three concurrent projects per UAS are permitted.

The project duration is up to 12 months and regularly ends with the submission of the EU application to be prepared. A maximum of 75,000 Euro can be applied for per project. The amount of the grant is adjusted to the plausibly explained need and follows the criteria of economic efficiency and economy.

Entitled to submit project proposals are all Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) in accordance with Section 3 (1) of the Bund-Laender Agreement on the “Research at UAS” programme. Funding will only be granted to the UAS submitting the proposal, not to the partners involved in the project.

The detailed funding conditions can be found in the current funding guideline. There you will also find all the documents needed to submit a project proposal.
